Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Resumiz, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Resumiz. By accepting them you confirm that you can form a legally binding contract and that you meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least the age of majority in your province, territory, or state of residence (18 in most of Canada, 19 in some) to create an account and agree to these terms. Resumiz is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly allow anyone under the age of majority to create an account or knowingly collect their personal information, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it. See our Privacy Policy for how we treat the information of minors.
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Free plan limits apply per person, not per account. Creating or using multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits is prohibited, and Resumiz may treat usage across duplicate accounts as usage by one person, and may limit, suspend, merge, or terminate duplicate accounts.
- You must verify your email address before using the tailoring service.
3. The service
Resumiz uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to help you tailor your resume for specific job postings. The service produces edited resume text, match scores, keyword analysis, and optionally cover letters based on content you provide.
Resumiz is designed to work only from the content you provide and not to invent experience, employers, dates, or credentials you do not supply.
Resumiz is a software tool, not a career, legal, immigration, financial, or other professional advisor. Nothing the service produces is professional advice, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to generate content that is false, defamatory, or fraudulent
- Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract the underlying AI system prompt
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the service
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or abuse-prevention measures, including by creating or using multiple accounts
- Reverse-engineer or resell any part of the service
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable law
- Submit content that contains personal information of third parties without their consent
- Upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with the security or operation of the service
5. Your content and feedback
You retain ownership of the resume text and job descriptions you submit. By submitting content, you grant Resumiz a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content through the AI API and store both your submitted content and the resulting output for your access.
You represent that you own or have the right to submit any content you provide, that it is accurate, and that submitting it and using the output does not violate any law or any third-party rights.
If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the service, you grant Resumiz a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose without restriction or any obligation to you.
You can delete individual tailorings or your entire account at any time from the Settings page.
6. Subscriptions and payment
- The Free plan provides 3 tailorings per month at no charge. Free plan limits apply per person as set out in Section 2, and Resumiz may apply technical measures to enforce them fairly across accounts.
- All prices are shown and charged in Canadian dollars (CAD).
- The Pro plan is billed monthly or annually via Stripe. The price is displayed at checkout and may change with 30 days notice.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued.
- Resumiz reserves the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.
7. Referral and creator program
- You receive a personal referral link, and where eligible a creator promo code, that you may share.
- Credits accrue when people you refer take qualifying actions, such as subscribing to Pro, as described on the Earn page.
- Credits and payouts are provided at the discretion of Resumiz, have no cash value except as expressly stated, and may be withheld, adjusted, or reversed in cases of fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or refunds.
- Self-referral, fake or duplicate accounts, and any attempt to generate credits through misleading or automated means are prohibited and may result in forfeiture of credits and termination of your account.
- Payouts are issued by the method and on the schedule shown in your account, subject to any minimum threshold. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive.
- Resumiz may modify, suspend, or end the referral and creator program at any time with reasonable notice.
8. Communications and marketing
By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional and service messages, including email verification, password resets, receipts, security notices, notices about usage limits or suspected misuse of the service, and notices of changes to these terms or the Privacy Policy. These messages are required to operate your account.
You may also receive occasional product updates and marketing messages. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such message or by emailing support@resumiz.com. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop transactional messages. Our commercial messages comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and include our identity and a mailing address.
9. AI output, accuracy, and your responsibility
Resumiz uses AI to generate suggestions from the content you submit. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your purpose, and it may phrase your experience in ways you would not choose. Every output is a draft for you to review, not a finished document.
You are solely responsible for reading, verifying, correcting, and deciding whether to use any output, including in any job application or other context, and for ensuring that what you submit anywhere is truthful and does not misrepresent you. You assume all risk arising from your use of any output.
Resumiz does not verify the accuracy of your inputs or of any output, and is not responsible for any consequence of your use of them, including any hiring decision, withdrawn or rejected application, or allegation that an application was inaccurate or misleading. AI output does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose.
10. No employment guarantee
Using Resumiz does not guarantee interview requests, job offers, or any employment outcome. Resume tailoring is one factor among many in any hiring process. Resumiz makes no representations about the effectiveness of its outputs for any specific application.
11. Third-party services
The service depends on third-party providers, including Anthropic, Stripe, Vercel, Resend, and Upstash, and may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, accuracy, security, or practices of any third-party service, and your use of a third-party service is governed by its own terms and policies. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resumiz is not liable for any loss or damage arising from a third-party service or from your reliance on it.
12. Service availability and changes
The service is provided on an as-available basis. We may add, change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the service, including features, plan limits, and the storage or availability of your content, at any time, with or without notice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you or anyone else for doing so. We do not guarantee that the service will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any stored content will be preserved. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
13. Intellectual property and infringement claims
The Resumiz name, logo, interface design, and underlying code are owned by Resumiz and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the service without written permission.
If you believe content available through the service infringes your intellectual property rights, contact support@resumiz.com with a description of the work, where the allegedly infringing material is located, and your contact information. We will review reports in good faith and remove infringing material where appropriate.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service and all output are provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Resumiz disclaims all implied warranties and conditions, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and availability, and any warranty that the service or any output will be accurate, complete, current, suitable, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from Resumiz or through the service creates any warranty not expressly stated here. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you, and nothing here removes any warranty or condition that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Resumiz and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, employment or business opportunity, or other intangible loss, arising out of or related to the service, any output, or these terms, under any theory of liability, whether contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, even if Resumiz has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if a stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Resumiz and its operator for all claims arising out of or related to the service, any output, or these terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Resumiz in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CA$100. These limits apply in the aggregate across all claims, not per claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, for willful misconduct, or for personal injury caused by negligence, or any non-waivable right you have under applicable consumer protection law.
16. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Resumiz and its operator from and against any claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) the content you submit, including any claim that it infringes, misappropriates, or violates the rights of a third party or was submitted without a required consent; (c) your violation of these terms or any applicable law; or (d) your use of any output of the service, including in a job application or any other context. This section survives termination of your account.
17. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@resumiz.com with a description of the issue and the resolution you seek, and to allow at least 30 days for a good-faith response. Many disputes can be resolved this way.
If a dispute is not resolved informally, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you and Resumiz agree that each will bring claims only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding, and each waives any right to a jury trial. This paragraph does not apply where applicable law prohibits it, including the right of consumers under Ontario consumer protection law to commence or join a class proceeding, and nothing in these terms removes any right you cannot waive under applicable consumer protection law.
18. Time limit on claims
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim arising out of or related to the service or these terms must be commenced within one year after the claim arose, after which it is permanently barred. This does not apply where applicable law sets a limitation period that cannot be shortened by agreement, including for consumer agreements, in which case that statutory period applies.
19. Termination
Resumiz may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, including the one account per person rule in Section 2, if required by law, or if your account is inactive for an extended period. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page, or by contacting support@resumiz.com. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination continue to apply.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice in the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may stop using the service and delete your account before the effective date.
21. General
- Entire agreement: these terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Resumiz about the service and replace any prior agreement on that subject.
- Severability: if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect and the unenforceable part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce any part of these terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: you may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- No third-party beneficiaries: these terms do not create any rights for anyone who is not a party to them.
- Electronic communications: you consent to receive communications and notices from us electronically, and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
- Force majeure: we are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Survival: sections that by their nature should survive termination, including the content and feedback licenses you grant, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution, survive.
