FAQ
Questions, answered honestly.
The short version: Resumiz tailors the resume you already have to a job, without inventing anything. Here are the questions people ask most.
What is Resumiz?
Resumiz is an AI resume tailoring service at resumiz.com. You paste your existing resume and a job description, and it repositions your real experience for that job: a tailored draft, a Match Score, keyword analysis, and an Honesty Report grading the fabrication risk. It is built in Canada and priced in CAD. Resumiz is not affiliated with Resumizer, ResumizeAI, ResumAize, or any other similarly named resume builder; resumiz.com is the only home of Resumiz.
Is Resumiz legit and safe to use?
Yes. Resumiz tailors the resume you already have to a specific job and shows you the full tailored draft, your Match Score, and an Honesty Report before you use anything, so you stay in control of the final document. Your resume content is not sold, and it is never used to train AI.
What is the no-fabrication guarantee?
Most AI resume tools rewrite your resume to match the posting, which invents skills and inflates experience. Resumiz does not. It only reorders, rewords, and reframes what is already in your resume. The rule is enforced in the core model instructions, every output gets a fabrication-risk score, and on Pro a line-by-line log shows exactly what changed and why.
What is Sherlock?
Sherlock is the honest inference engine inside every Resumiz tailoring. It reads your resume the way a detective reads a case file: real work implies real skills, so it finds the abilities your experience proves but never names, surfaces the ones your target job asks for, and anchors each one to a specific activity already in your resume. Anything it cannot anchor to evidence is flagged as a genuine gap instead of being invented. Sherlock runs on every plan, free included. You can read how it works at resumiz.com/sherlock.
Will recruiters know I used AI on my resume?
Recruiters rarely run AI detectors. What they reject is sameness: resumes that read like the same generic template as hundreds of others, and claims that collapse under interview questions. Surveys in 2025 and 2026 found a clear majority of employers more likely to reject AI resumes that lack personalization. Resumiz output stays in your own words, because your words are the only raw material it uses, so it does not read like template AI text.
Is it lying to use AI on my resume?
Using AI is not lying. Fabricating is lying, whoever does it: invented skills, inflated numbers, fake titles. The honest standard is simple: everything on the page must be true and defensible in the interview. Resumiz exists to make that standard easy to hit, because it cannot add anything that is not already in your resume.
Why is my resume getting rejected so often in 2026?
Application volume exploded, with postings drawing hundreds of applicants and recruiters scanning each resume for seconds. Three fixable causes account for most rejections: formatting that screening software cannot parse, a generic resume that reads like everyone else, and relevant experience buried below less relevant material. The free ATS checker diagnoses the first problem; honest tailoring fixes the other two.
How do I tailor my resume to a job description?
Read the posting and identify the skills and vocabulary the employer emphasizes. Reorder your resume so your most relevant experience leads. Rephrase bullets to use their terminology where your experience genuinely supports it. Never add anything untrue. Resumiz automates exactly this process in about 30 seconds; see the tailoring page for the full method.
Does Resumiz work with applicant tracking systems?
Yes. It produces clean, ATS-readable formatting, gives you a Match Score against the posting, and shows the keywords you match and the ones you are missing. It aligns your real experience to the role rather than stuffing keywords to game a number. There is also a free ATS checker on the site that tests any resume instantly, no account needed.
What is the best free ATS resume checker?
Look for one that is transparent about what it measures and honest about what no tool can promise: no checker can predict how a specific employer configured their system. The Resumiz ATS checker is free with no login, accepts uploads or pasted text, checks the parseability factors you actually control, and explains its method on the page.
Will my resume be used to train AI?
No. Resumiz does not sell your data, and it never trains AI on your resume content.
How is Resumiz different from other AI resume tools?
Most tools optimize by rewriting freely, which means inventing. Resumiz repositions only what is true, scores the fabrication risk, and flags the gaps it will not pretend to fill. Its Sherlock inference engine also surfaces the transferable skills your work proves but never names, each anchored to evidence. You can read side-by-side breakdowns against the major tools on the comparisons page.
Do I need a resume already?
Yes. Resumiz tailors an existing resume to a specific job, so it is not a from-scratch builder. You need a base resume to start from. If you have one, you are set.
What does Resumiz cost?
The free plan includes 3 tailorings a month, PDF export, the Match Score and keyword analysis, the Honesty Report, and an application tracker. Pro is CA$19 a month or CA$190 a year and adds 50 tailorings a month, AI cover letters, interview prep, the full change audit, and DOCX export. Pricing is in Canadian dollars. The ATS checker is free for everyone, with or without an account.
Is Resumiz Canadian? What currency does it charge?
Yes. Resumiz is built in Canada and charges in Canadian dollars, with no surprise USD conversion at checkout. Most competing tools price in USD.
Can I export to PDF and Word?
PDF export is included on the free plan. DOCX, the Word format, is included on Pro.
