Framing notes: tell the tailoring how to position you

You know things about your own story that a job description cannot. Maybe you are mid career change and do not want your old field leading the page. Maybe you are still finishing a program and do not want the summary to open with it. Framing notes give you that steering wheel: a small optional field under the job description where you tell the tailoring how to position what is already true.

The no-fabrication guarantee is untouched. A framing note can adjust emphasis, ordering, and positioning of material already in your resume. It can never add a skill, a tool, a date, or a status your resume does not support, and it never removes a fact from the section where it belongs. If a note asks for something the honesty rules forbid, the rules win.

Meet Sherlock, the honest inference engine

Your resume proves more than it says. Someone who reviewed contractor claims to protect a budget has exercised negotiation and commercial judgment, even if those words appear nowhere on the page. Finding those skills honestly is the hardest problem in resume tailoring, and solving it is what Resumiz was built around. That engine now has a name: Sherlock.

Sherlock reads your resume the way a detective reads a case file. It sorts everything it finds into explicit matches, honestly inferred skills anchored to real evidence, and genuine gaps it refuses to fill. The rule it never breaks: if it cannot point to the evidence, it is a gap, not an inference. Sherlock has been doing this work inside every tailoring since day one; today it gets its name, and a page of its own.

An accessibility statement, and a way to report barriers

Resumiz should work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies. We published an accessibility statement that sets out the standard we build the site toward, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and where we honestly stand today.

It also gives you a direct way to flag a problem. If any part of Resumiz is hard or impossible to use with your assistive technology, email support@resumiz.com and we will work with you to find a fix or a usable alternative.

Cleaner one-page resume exports

A tailored resume should be exactly as long as it needs to be. We tightened how the PDF and Word exports fit the page, so a resume that belongs on one page now stays on one page, even when it fills the sheet to the bottom.

Resumes with genuinely more to say still flow to a second page as before. The change only removes the near-empty extra page that could appear when a single trailing line was pushed past the bottom edge.

Your session now signs out automatically

Your resume is personal. Starting today, if you leave Resumiz open and walk away, we sign you out after 30 minutes of inactivity. Signed-in sessions also expire after 7 days at most, even on a device you use every day.

Nothing about your account changes. Sign back in and everything is exactly where you left it. If you are still signed in on some old device somewhere, that session will quietly expire on its own.

Honest gap analysis on every plan, and one-click re-tailoring

Knowing what a job asks for that you do not have is the heart of honest tailoring. That analysis now comes with every plan, not just Pro: each free tailoring lists the required terms we found no evidence for, clearly marked as real gaps rather than things to invent.

Re-applying to a similar role is also faster. Tailor again in your History now reloads the full job description, title, and company onto the dashboard. With a saved default resume, the whole form arrives filled and you are one click from a fresh tailoring.

Free limits apply per person, and a privacy note about how we keep them fair

Our free plan has always been one account per person. We made that clearer in the Terms: free limits apply per person, not per account, and creating extra accounts to get around them is not allowed.

To keep that fair without reading your resume content, our systems derive one-way, irreversible signals from submissions to spot when free limits are being worked around across multiple accounts. We never store the underlying details, these signals cannot be reversed, they expire automatically, and they are used only to enforce free limits. If a limit is ever applied to you by mistake, a human will review it. We added a plain-language description of this to the Privacy Policy.

• Terms: free limits are per person; duplicate accounts to dodge limits are not allowed.
• Privacy: abuse-prevention signals are one-way, never stored in raw form, auto-expiring, and reviewable by a human.
• What we collect has not changed, we still do not sell your data, and we never train AI on your resume content.

Change the email on your account

Switched email addresses, or signed up with the wrong one? You can now change the email on your account yourself, from Settings. We send a six-digit code to the new address to confirm you control it, and your old address gets a security notice once the change is made.

Nothing else moves. Your tailoring history, your plan, your remaining tailorings, and your saved resume all stay exactly where they are. Only the address you sign in with and receive mail at changes.

• Your history, plan, and usage carry over untouched.

A free ATS resume checker

Most employers run resumes through software, an applicant tracking system, before a person ever reads them. We built a free checker so you can see how cleanly yours reads, in seconds.

It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored, and you do not need an account.

• Checks the parts you control: contact details, standard headings, bullet points, measurable results, length, and clean plain text.
• Add a job description to see which of its key terms already appear in your resume.
• No magic number. Every result is a plain, explainable check, because no tool can honestly promise how a given employer system will rank you.

Updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

We refreshed our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy so they are clearer and match how Resumiz works today. Here is what changed, in plain language.

• Resumiz is now clearly an adults-only service. You must be at least the age of majority where you live to use it.
• Creating an account, including with Google, now explicitly means you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.
• We strengthened the legal terms: clearer disclaimers, a clearer limit on liability, your responsibility to review and verify AI output before you rely on it, how third-party services and changes to the service are handled, and a step to raise any dispute with us directly first.
• We aligned the Privacy Policy with these terms. What we collect has not changed, we still do not sell your data, and we never train AI on your resume content.
